I love the look of a fun heel peeking out from under a wedding dress.  Rather than putting together a monochromatic ensemble, consider a little touch of color.  The contrast of a white or ivory dress and brightly-colored shoes looks fabulous in photos, and can easily compliment your accessories or flowers.  I found these heels on J.Crew online, at www.jcrew.com.

real simple . . . real handy

I spend a lot of time reading wedding magazines, and today, I am especially compelled to share Real Simple's 2009 "weddings" issue with you.  If you are getting married this year, or even next year, I highly recommend you pick up this issue!  Not only is it filled with the most complete guides for brides-to-be that I've seen in a long time, it is simply gorgeous.  

Some of my favorite chapters include:

Timeline--Your Planning Calendar:  this calendar breaks down the planning process into small, manageable steps.  Click here for the online version.

Attire--Your Body, Your Dress:  every bride wants to feel absolutely beautiful on her wedding day.  This chapter shows how to accentuate your best assets and, perhaps, downplay your not-so-favorite features.  I have a huge crush on Oscar de la Renta's silk-taffeta strapless gown...it is young, romantic, and whimsical.

Photos and Video--Shoot Sheet:  I believe that every couple deserves to enjoy their day, without worrying about their photos, flowers, food, etc. Communication before your wedding is key.  I meet with my clients at least once before the wedding to discuss their photography needs.  This shoot sheet is a great point of reference to ensure that the "must haves" are not missed.

I just opened a shipment from J.Crew and am thrilled!  I ordered the City-fit Luxe Cord Trouser in coal (among other things!), and LOVE them.  They fit perfectly and can easily be dressed up or dressed down. Better yet, J.Crew offers a very convenient personal shopping service.  I decided try it for the first time after I was informed that an online item was sold out.
